Olivia & Joe’s wedding at Saltmarshe Hall was a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, emotion and, of course, plenty of dancing!

From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was going to be such a special day. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Saltmarshe Hall, Olivia and Joe had created a celebration that felt effortlessly elegant, personal and full of personality.

It was such a pleasure to be part of their day and to capture all those little moments that made it completely theirs.

The Morning

The morning preparations were filled with excitement, anticipation and those little pockets of calm before the day really began.

Olivia spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids, with the talented Emmalee Hair Design and Daryl Jade MUAgetting her ready for the aisle.

There were plenty of lovely moments to capture throughout the morning, from the final touches of hair and make-up to the excitement of getting into the dress from Dotty Bridal.

And, of course, those emotional moments with family and bridesmaids as the reality of the day started to sink in.

The morning is always one of my favourite parts of a wedding. It’s when the nerves, excitement and anticipation all come together, and there are so many genuine moments happening naturally around you.

The Ceremony

The ceremony at Saltmarshe Hall was every bit as beautiful as you’d hope for, outdoors set within the walled gardens next to the venues outdoor swimming pool – we could have been anywhere.

With their closest family and friends gathered around them, Olivia and Joe finally got to say those all-important words and make it official.

There is something so special about seeing two people you’ve spent the morning photographing suddenly standing together as husband and wife.

The emotion, the smiles, the little glances between them, these are the moments I love capturing without interrupting what is happening.

The Drinks Reception

Once the ceremony was over, it was time to celebrate!

Guests enjoyed drinks on the terrace, laughter and plenty of time together while I wandered through the celebrations, capturing all those natural, candid moments happening around me.

From hugs with family and friends to champagne cheers and plenty of laughter, the drinks reception was full of genuine happiness.

With beautiful florals from Hannah Carter / The F Word Flower, gorgeous stationery by Noble Fine Art, and the stunning setting of Saltmarshe Hall, there were so many thoughtful details throughout the day.

And then, of course, came the music…

With The Yorkshire String Quartet providing beautiful live music, there was never any shortage of gorgeous, peaceful vibes!

The Portraits

One of my favourite parts of the day was taking Olivia and Joe away for some time together for their couple portraits.

Saltmarshe Hall gives you such a beautiful backdrop for portraits, with its character, gardens and surrounding countryside providing plenty of opportunities to create images that feel romantic but still completely natural.

Olivia and Joe were so relaxed together, which made this part of the day really easy. Rather than lots of stiff posing, we focused on walking, talking, laughing and simply enjoying a few minutes together away from the excitement of the day.

These are often some of my favourite photographs from a wedding, those quieter moments where it’s just the two of you, taking everything in.

The Party

As the evening arrived, the atmosphere shifted from wedding day excitement to full-on party mode.

With Manhattan Soul Band getting everyone onto the dance floor, the evening was filled with huge smiles, questionable dance moves and the kind of energy you hope for at every wedding.

There was also plenty for me to capture from behind the scenes, including the brilliant moments between Olivia, Joe and their friends and family.

And then there was the cake, the speeches, the dancing and all those little in-between moments that make a wedding feel like your wedding.
