There are wedding days that feel magical from the very first moment, and this stunning May wedding at Thicket Priory was certainly one of them. Blessed with glorious sunshine and some of the warmest temperatures of the spring, the day unfolded against a backdrop of blue skies, golden light, and the beautiful grounds of this magnificent Yorkshire venue.

With family and friends travelling from near and far, guests were welcomed to Thicket Priory for a relaxed yet elegant celebration. The historic house looked breathtaking in the bright sunshine, while the gardens provided the perfect setting for drinks, mingling, and making the most of the beautiful weather.
The couple chose to embrace the venue’s timeless character while adding their own personal touches throughout the day. Soft, romantic florals by Wild Sweet Pea complemented the grand interiors perfectly, bringing texture, colour, and a natural elegance to every space. Beautiful furniture supplied by Beaties Events helped create inviting areas for guests to gather and enjoy the sunshine throughout the day.

As guests took their seats for the wedding breakfast, Homegrown Hospitality delivered an exceptional dining experience, with delicious food that was as beautifully presented as it was enjoyed. Every detail reflected the couple’s desire to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for their loved ones.
The bride looked effortlessly stunning thanks to the talented Jessica Ley Makeup and Hair by Jodie Payne, whose work perfectly balanced a timeless bridal look with a relaxed, modern feel. Meanwhile, the groom proudly embraced his Scottish heritage, adding a wonderful sense of tradition and personality to the celebrations.
One of the highlights of the day came later in the evening, when guests gathered for a lively ceilidh led by Triple Scotch Band. As the dance floor filled with enthusiastic dancers of all abilities, the room came alive with energy, laughter, and plenty of memorable moments. It was the perfect way to honour the groom’s Scottish roots and bring everyone together for an unforgettable evening.
Adding another beautiful centrepiece to the day was the stunning wedding cake created by Sweet Chic UK, which looked almost too good to cut into. The couple chose to cut their cake on the terrace at the back with the lake and the perfect green grounds creating a gorgeous backdrop for their cake cut moment.
This wedding was a wonderful reminder of everything we love about celebrations at Thicket Priory: stunning surroundings, thoughtful details, fantastic suppliers, and most importantly, a couple surrounded by the people they love most. Combined with glorious sunshine and a fantastic Scottish twist, it was truly a wedding to remember.
